December 4th - December 8th, 2019 | Pioneer Courthouse Square | Portland, Oregon

More than 50 potent winter ales are featured at this year's event, all of which are created specifically to bring warmth and cheer to the holiday season. These aren't beers you'll find in the supermarket - our brewers have put together special recipes just for the Holiday Ale Festival.

Limited Release Beers

2019 Limited Release Beers

The Limited Release Beers are special vintage beers for which there is a very limited supply. These beers typically require additional tickets for a taster, with a select few also offered as full glass pours of varying ticket cost. To help ensure as many people as possible get a fair chance of trying at least one of these beers, we stagger their tapping throughout each day of the fest (Wednesday through Friday only).

TBD - To Be Determined • MPLT - More Pouring Later Today • GTHT - Gone Today, Here Tomorrow • OUT - Sold Out

All Limited Release Beers are double tickets unless noted (onsite); some are tasters only. Beers are subject to change. Limited Release and Lounge beers will be announced as "pop-up" tappings in real-time both here and on our social media feeds.

    Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 @ 11:00 AM

NOTE: While we expect to tap these at the specified time, there may be a delay as these will tap once the previous limited release beer at the specified location runs out.

    Vin-Drakonic (2018)

Wild Imperial Stout Fermented w/ Grenache GrapesABV: 11.0%
The brewers at Drake's have taken their high gravity imperial stout, fermented it on Grenache grape skins, and aged it in Zinfandel barrels for eight months, which turned this malty monster into a completely new creature. The final blend has a pronounced raspberry/grape fruitiness with a pleasant dark chocolate and tobacco-like malt profile. The beer also gained a pleasant tartness from wild fermentation; the final product walks the line somewhere between a glass of wine, an imperial stout, and a Flemish red.

    Espresso Imperial Russian Stout (2013)

    Espresso Russian Imperial StoutABV: 11.0%
Like the classic version, this Odd Year edition was brewed in the authentic, historical style of an imperial Russian stout, but with the addition of several hundred pounds of espresso beans from our friends at Ryan Bros. Coffee. Layers of flavor and complexity augment an already enigmatic brew, leaving this darkly delicious libation positively brimming with deep, rich espresso flavors that meld beautifully with the roasty bitterness of the dark malts.

    Imperial Russian Stout (2013)

    Russian Imperial StoutABV: 10.5%
So thick, rich and, well, sinful, you might worry that you'll be doomed to the fiery pits just for thinking about a sip. Rest assured, however, that even though this seemingly pernicious brew is indeed as black as sin, it's guaranteed that no actual sin was committed in making it...you'll have to add that on your own. This massive and intensely aromatic beer abounds with notes of chocolate, coffee, black currants, anise and roastiness, and its heavy palate is nothing to be trifled with.
